This is chronic fatigue syndrome…
Are you are no longer functioning at the level to which you are accustomed?
Are you struggling with brain fog, cognitive decline, muscle pain, tingling, numbness, dizziness, insomnia or other sleep disorders? Have you tried to ‘push’ through the fatigue at first, but found that physical exercise, and even intellectual stimulation made the fatigue even worse? This is chronic fatigue syndrome…
It has been at least six months since the extreme fatigue began.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a debilitating condition that presents as profound fatigue, but is not improved by rest, and is often exacerbated by physical activity and mental exertion. It is also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) and is highly associated with post-exertional malaise (PE). It can affect women and men of all ages and ethnicities.
Though chronic fatigue is most commonly diagnosed in women between the ages of 40-60, an estimated 2.5 million Americans have CFS. Similar to conditions of irritable bowel and fibromyalgia, patients with CFS are often told that it may be “in their head” and are treated with anti-depressant medications.
You may actually be depressed as a result of your illness.
You know that the root cause is not depression — so anti-depressants are not the cure.
