My motivation? I love what I do…
I’m often asked, “Why are you a doctor?” The answer is quite simple, I love helping my patients understand WHY they don’t feel well and then provide them with an individual treatment plan of HOW to get better.
I don’t push pills, but rather explore all modalities of healing that incorporate nutrition, life-style, exercise, restorative sleep, in addition to evidence based nutritional supplementation when indicated. As a child and teen, I loved solving mathematic and scientific puzzles…
Nothing brings me greater joy than to see a patient’s health restored.
In medicine, I often find similarity in trying to identify the root causes for a patient’s symptoms. Often likened to a detective, I will leave no stone unturned in order to bring clarity to a patient’s mystery illness. Nothing brings me greater joy than to see a patient’s health restored.
Unfortunately, medical care has changed significantly in the past 2 decades since having completed my training in Internal Medicine. Patient appointments are often reduced to 15 minutes in length, leaving little time for dialogue to review health concerns in more detail.
Patients need and deserve more!
Prescription medications are used to treat the “symptom” with no time allotted to looking for root causes. This change in medical care has led to an overall increase in prescription medication use with subsequent adverse drug-drug interactions and medication side effects. Patients need and deserve more! More time with their doctor, more exploration of symptoms in a patient-centered — not insurance-driven approach.
“My motivation each day is simple: to provide a place for patients to be heard, not rushed… to be understood, not silenced… and to be helped, not harmed.”
